“You see, we’re all about opportunity. For all kinds of people, in all kinds of places.” That’s the opening line from a promo shot two years ago in and around Tulsa. On this #THT, we’re reminded that taking advantage of opportunity can often mean taking risk. Within the creative process, getting outside, and then punching through the comfort zone, can be a really good thing. With that in mind, on this multiple location video shoot, we decided to play in the street. Completely unplanned, we placed our talent, musician Brad Piccolo of the Red Dirt Rangers, smack dab in the middle of Boston Avenue in the middle of downtown Tulsa in the middle of traffic.

Our script called for a guitarist to play a Woody Guthrie inspired riff of This Land in various urban and rural settings. After getting Brad to play seemingly endless takes – thanks Brad! – we were able to thread the footage in and out of video previously shot on location in New York, Florida, California, Texas, Colorado, and Oklahoma. We loved the result – a story of an American company working across “this land.” And the risky downtown shot? Definitely the favorite. Watch the spot here.
